Towards the end of October we had a pretty awesome missionary come into our area. His name is Elder Kitsell and he is from England. This was his first area in his mission and we got to know him pretty well. He is such a great missionary and he was here for what I think was a little over 6 months! That is a pretty long time for any missionary, especially when it is your first area. LDS missionaries go on their missions for a 2-year period and every 6 weeks there is a transfer. Sometimes you'll stay in an area for multiple transfers and sometimes you'll transfer after 6 weeks. We were lucky to have him stay here as long as he did!
His birthday was in February, so we had a little party for him at our place. We invited two other families that we go to church with. Fran made this amazing cake and we had a little potluck dinner.

It was so much fun having these two families over. We really enjoy their company and the women are incredible!
Elder Kitsell has since transferred and I feel like one of our friends has moved away. We will miss him over the next 18 months and will look forward to hearing all about his post-mission life when he returns home!

I love how your apartment is decorated! Did you paint the walls, or were they already like that?
