The Kids' Trip to NYC pt. 1 [Gray's Papaya & the Staten Island Ferry]

I'm not sure where it came from, but Matthew is in love with New York City. He has been wanting to go for a very long time, so we finally took him when we got back from Arizona. We left early in the morning and drove to Trenton to hop on the train. Matthew and Aaron were both so excited!

The first thing we did when we got off the train is walk to Greenwich Village to eat some Gray's Papaya. We ate right outside and everyone who walked by us smiled at how cute Matthew and Aaron looked shoving Gray's pizza in their faces!

Next on our itinerary for the day was the Staten Island Ferry. Before our trip I made sure to read a few books about the Statue of Liberty with Matthew and Aaron. They were very excited to see her in person! They also loved the ferry ride.

It was an absolutely beautiful day in Manhattan. We couldn't have asked for better weather!

When we got to Staten Island we turned right back around and stood in line for the ferry back to Manhattan. When my mom and I went it only took about 10 minutes to get back on the ferry. When we were there we had to stand in line for about 25 minutes before we could board the ferry and head back. Luckily the boys were pretty good during our long wait.

Next time we take the kids to NYC, we will definitely have to take a cruise and walk up to the crown of Lady Liberty. Matthew and Aaron really wanted a picture next to her. However, they settled for a picture next to this replica they saw on the street:
