"American Hero Day" Parade

Matthew learned about Memorial Day in PreK this year. He came home saying "Mom! Do you know what day it is on Monday? AMERICAN HEROES DAY!!!!!" It was pretty adorable. So for American Heroes Day we did two things. The first was a parade very close to our apartment. We had to wait a long time for it to start, but it was fun for us all!

Matthew and Aaron were fascinated at all the "heroes" that walked by. It was really cool to see all the veterans! We spent some time talking about the heroes in our lives. My Grandpa Paul served in the US Coast Guard, Chris's Uncle Lee was in the Air Force, and his Grandpa served in the military as well. They also made a friend who watched the parade with them. They helped him find the candy that got thrown at them. He was a little slow at finding it. My boys were pros. Haha!

After the parade we went home for a bit. We may have gone swimming, or we may have gone to a movie afterwards. I can't remember which came first. I think we went and saw Epic first and then went swimming at the opening day of our apartment complex's pool. It was a fun-filled day!
