Thanksgiving in Utah pt. 2

Chris & Larry took Matthew and Aaron to go exploring while we were there. To this day, Matthew talks about how much fun he had shooting and digging for rocks with Papa Larry. They were gone for quite a while! It's nice to know that Matthew and Aaron are at an age now where they can go off with "the guys" and do things like this without it being stressful and overwhelming to the adults they are with. They're old enough now for that kind of stuff and it just blows my mind!

They each had pickaxe and found so much pyrite (fool's gold).

They also got to go shooting! I love these pictures of the boys with their Papa Larry. It reminds me of how it must have been when Chris was their age and Larry was teaching him how to shoot.

They stopped by the Porter Rockwell cabin and played at a playground as well. They had such a good time!

Then they stopped to get ice cream before heading home.

Later that day Larry & Jelaire took us to Thanksgiving Point! In all the times I've been to Utah, I've never been to Thanksgiving Point. We had such a fun day. Our first stop was to see the reindeer. One of them was supposed to be Sven from Frozen.

Kenny met up with us that afternoon!

The boys got to go on pony rides. It was awesome! They loved it!

There were so many animals to see. I can't quite remember which boy did this, but either Aaron or Matthew tried to feed (or pet?) one of the animals and they got their finger nibbled on. It was pretty scary for them, but luckily there was no blood.

We were also joined by Jelaire's daughter, Rachel, and her boyfriend Eric and son Cassidy. Matthew and Aaron love their cousin Cassidy! It was so fun spending time with them! They loved feeding the chickens. Or roosters, I guess.

We went on a hayride...

And spent some time in a little farm museum sort of thing.
