We took Aaron to a new dentist quite a while back. While we had to drive about 40 minutes to get there and wait for quite some time in the waiting room, it was worth it. The dentist was great. He was even willing to send Chris a copy of Aaron's x-rays so he could see where his small cavity was that he decided not to fill. The dentist also said Chris could call him anytime if he wanted him to explain more. Dr. La Torre also realized that Aaron is tongue tied, which means that the piece of skin under his tongue that connects it to his mouth is attached closer to the tip than a normal person. He said we need to get it snipped right away, but I wasn't so sure.
We took Aaron to an oral surgeon and went over the surgery, but Chris and I have decided to just let it be for the time being. He can talk fine and stick out his tongue far enough... we'll address it again if it proves to be a problem in the future.
Anyway, everyone in the office was really great. The assistant came in and leveled with Aaron right away, asking him questions and gaining his trust. Then she took him down to get his x-rays without me and he did awesome! She complimented me over and over again about how well-behaved he was while he was in the chair. What a contrast from the last office where he was just too scared to do anything!
Here are some pictures from Dr. La Torre's waiting room!
