As an early birthday present for Chris, we spent 2 nights on the Jersey shore in Avalon, NJ. I saw a Living Social deal for a hotel suite near the shore and made sure that Chris could get the time off from school and church responsibilities and we went!
The first thing we did after checking in to our hotel was go to the beach. All we had to do was cross the street and then walk past a restaurant before walking on to the beach. It was absolutely beautiful. There is something so peaceful about the East Coast beaches. They're quiet and clean and the water is warm.
We spent the entire evening on the beach and headed back to the hotel after dark. It looked quite pretty all lit up!
We had a nice room. There was a bedroom with 2 beds, 1 bathroom, a small kitchen, and a living room with a fold out sofa. We had the boys go to sleep in the bedroom and when Chris and I were ready to go to sleep, we had Matthew go lay down on the fold out sofa. Our only complaint was that it was pretty loud. Everyone stayed out on the porches until all hours of the night and it was hard to sleep. But our room was great otherwise!
