Miscellaneous Happenings

Matthew gave his first talk in Primary 2 weeks ago! For those who don't know, Primary is like Sunday School for kids ages 4-11. He was asked to speak on Respecting Heavenly Father. Chris helped him write his talk and he did such a great job. I was so proud!

Chris's morning routine is so solid - it's awesome. He wakes up at 4:45am and goes for a run (usually at least 2 miles). Then he makes himself breakfast and a lunch for the day. Matthew LOVES eating breakfast with Chris. It doesn't happen every morning, but he is so happy when it does. The other day Matthew drew me a picture and Chris wrote me a little note. The picture is of a "flower slide" and Matthew in the middle with me on the right.

I also wake up to notes like this on the fridge. It says:

Honey thanks for working so hard in your classes. Heavenly Father will bless you for your devoted service to our family. You deserve a break, here is a coupon I found. Love, Chris

1 Sleep-in Day w/ breakfast in bed. Your choice of entree. I love you!!

Is that not the sweetest thing ever?! I am one lucky lady.

Last week during Preschool time Matthew decided that we all needed a rest. He got out all the blankets and we rested for about 20 minutes. It was super fun.

Some other exciting news is that my parents will be here in 1 week! My mom talked about making a calendar for the kids to mark days off, but by the time she sent it to us we already had a Peter Pan calendar made. Disneyjunior.com has the coolest stuff to print off for kids! Anyway, we have been marking our days off. The blue day is when the boys get to see my parents (they are getting here very late the night before) and the yellow day is Chris's birthday!

For lunch last week we had a picnic near the clubhouse at our apartment complex. We ate and then Matthew and Aaron collected acorns and chased squirrels. Before heading home we played basketball for a few minutes. It was a lot of fun! Now that it's cooling off a bit, we are outside more than normal.
