Aaron's Preschool & Dental Adventures

Aaron has been loving his time at Picariello Preschool. He goes to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-11:30am. His teachers, Mrs. Smyrl, Mrs. May & Mrs. S, are wonderful. They've taught him so many fun songs and poems and he comes home so excited about his colors and his shapes. He likes it so much that he might go back there next year instead of the YMCA where Matthew went for PreK.

On mornings when Aaron has school, we take Matthew to the bus and then we head straight to Aaron's school. We usually get there around 10 minutes early, so Aaron has plenty of time to play outside. It has 2 playgrounds and in the summer it even has a splash pad. He loves it! Now that it's cold outside we usually just sit in the car. He misses being able to get out and play! One of his favorite things to do was to find acorns or nuts on the ground and put them in the drain like this...

Aaron had his first cavity. So sad! We knew it was coming eventually. He has a lot of dental issues that will need to be taken care of eventually, but his really deep pockets in his molars tend to keep food inside of them and need to be brushed really well. Sadly, he had his first cavity. We have been through 3 dentists already here, but I think we've finally settled on the 3rd one we tried. I took him in to get his cavity filled and he was such a trooper!! It was sad seeing his mouth so sore (he bit the side of his mouth before they got the gauze in there, so it was hurting him by the end of the day), but overall it was a really good experience. I'm so grateful that pediatric dentists exist so that kids like Aaron aren't petrified of the dentist.

Another favorite activity of Aaron's is getting pretzels from the YMCA when I go exercise in the morning. A ton of businesses in Philly sell pretzels from the Philly Pretzel Factory for $.50, and every once in a while I let Aaron get one. One morning I promised him a pretzel and they had sold out, so we went to the Philly Pretzel Factory and picked some up for him and Matthew. He was so excited!
