Utah pt. 3: Visiting with Jack

Jack Woldberg has been an interesting part of our family since he married my Grandma Sally years ago. It hasn't always been an easy ride with him. There have been multiple instances where his words and actions have hurt multiple people in my family. But when Matthew was born something changed and I was able to see the good in him. He was so good to my boys and really cares for them.

He is currently living in an elderly home just outside of Salt Lake City, so Chris and I felt like it would be good to stop by and visit him. I wasn't sure if he would remember who we are, but we went anyway. It took a few minutes, but eventually he recognized us all and we were able to visit for a few minutes. We knew that this would probably be the last time that Matthew and Aaron saw him alive, so we wanted to be able to give them some time with him. These boys don't know Jack's history and they see him as a great-grandpa just as much as they see Sally as their great-grandma.

We had a short visit, but it was nice. He gave us some of his trademark wisdom and we said our goodbyes.

It poured rain on the way home. It was so beautiful to see rain over the mountains!
