NYC with Chris

My mom came to visit over Easter weekend and Chris and I were able to go to NYC to go to the temple and spend a couple hours in Manhattan afterwards for a nice date day. It was great! There is something so wonderful about knowing that my kids are with someone who loves them and will make sure they're having fun, and us getting on a train to leave town. It's a great feeling.

Our first stop, like almost always, is the Wafels & Dinges waffle cart. I'm sure my family who reads this and does not live here have heard about these waffles enough. I get mine with strawberries and whipped cream and it's amazing!

After the temple our plan was to go to the top of the Empire State Building, but it was so rainy and foggy that we decided it wouldn't be worth the money spent because we wouldn't be able to see. So we went to Chelsea Market instead.

It was really pretty inside! And very crowded.

We had lunch at Hale & Hearty Soups.

We tried some mini doughnuts from the Doughnuttery. They were delicious!! And teeny tiny!

After walking around Chelsea Market we headed up to the High Line, which is a 1.45 mile long park built on top of railroad tracks from the New York Central Railroad that is no longer in use. I'd imagine that in the spring it's lovely with lots of trees and grass and flowers, but everything was pretty dead when we were there. It was still really cool to see NY from that perspective, though!

After walking lots and lots and lots, we took an elevator back down and decided to just head home. We could have stayed longer, but apparently we are old and thought getting home for an early bedtime sounded better than living it up in the city all night.

We were exhausted! But we had a lot of fun.
